Bob is a Methodist Minister. He works as a pastoral supervisor (Association for Pastoral Supervision and Education), trainer in pastoral supervision and as a spiritual director. Bob uses creative methods to help people reflect on their work and their journey through life.
After several years in circuit as a regular minister, he moved into chaplaincy first at Broadmoor then as lead chaplain at Rampton High Secure Psychiatric Hospital. His final chaplaincy post was at Sir Michael Sobell House Hospice in Oxford.

Bob and Karen Murphy are also joint editors of Chaplaincy in Hospice and Palliative Care, Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2017.
His play Swallows, which explores the tension between palliative care and assisted dying, won a competition to be performed professionally at The Old Fire Station Oxford in 2017.
Sue is a classical singer who has also studied drama and music with some excellent coaches. She has used various creative methods to help performers, at all levels, to reflect on and communicate their interior vision to their audience. Bob and Sue have found that their training has many parallels and the methods do not require great talent or expertise. Part of their own journey is to bring their own work closer together as well as continuing in their separate professional work.
Molly the Dog is the other full-time resident. She is a Paterdale cross rescue dog, originally from South Wales. She had a traumatic puppyhood but is loving the great expanse of La France Profonde. She is very friendly but can become anxious.
